How to Choose the Right Intimate Venue
Picking the perfect small wedding venue depends on what matters most to you. Here are a few quick tips:
Think about your landscape style — lakeside, woodland, fells, gardens?
Guest count — some venues suit just-us-two; others host 20–30 comfortably.
Accommodation needs — staying on site keeps things simple and relaxing.
Season + weather — do you want cosy fires or summer evenings outdoors?
Ceremony options — indoor, outdoor, pavilion, boathouse?
Photography potential — views, unique features, varied backdrops.

FAQs
What are the best months to get married in the Lake District?
May–October offers warmer days and long evenings. Spring and autumn are stunning for colour and quieter locations. Winter is also a beautiful option, with dramatic skies and the cosy comfort of country house hotels. Working with me means I can get to you whatever the weather from my local Windermere base and knowledge of the Lake District roads.
Will the weather affect our photos?
The Lakes are known for changing weather — but this only adds atmosphere. We can always adapt, and moody clouds make beautiful images.
How much time should we plan for photos?
For relaxed portraits, 20–30 minutes is ideal. Golden hour (sunset) is especially magical if timing allows.
Do you help with planning photo locations?
Absolutely — I know plenty of hidden spots near each venue, perfect for a short wander or adventure.
